Do I need to send my pet’s medical records before the appointment?

Yes, Sploot requires your pet’s previous medical records (especially up-to-date vaccine history and any relevant diagnostics like X-rays or blood work) to be submitted before the visit. This ensures safe and effective care. Invoices or outdated certificates are not needed. It’s recommended to request records from your previous clinic at least 48 hours in advance.

Why does my pet need a pre-operative consultation before surgery or dental procedures?

This consultation serves multiple purposes: It confirms your pet is healthy enough for anesthesia, based on a full exam. It provides a clear overview of the procedure, recovery expectations, possible complications, and personalized care plans. A pre-op blood test helps assess organ function to minimize anesthesia risks. Depending on the results, the procedure may proceed as planned, be adjusted, or be postponed.

How flexible are appointment times and what’s the cancellation policy?

Sploot offers same-day and urgent drop‑off appointments with hour-long operating hours from 8 AM to 8 PM, 365 days a year in both Denver and Chicago. For same‑day bookings, a deposit equal to the exam fee is required, which is applied toward your visit. If a cancellation occurs less than 24 hours prior to or if you miss the appointment, this deposit is forfeited. For Colorado clients, these fees support the SplootCare compassion fund.
